Saint Anne was the mother the the Virgin Mary and grandmother of Jesus. She was born from the House of David, which predicted the birth of Jesus. Anne and her husband, Joachim wanted a baby and tried for 20 years to concieve. Finally an angel came to Anne and said that God would give her a child. She promised to dedicate her child's life to God and that she would name her Mary.
When Mary was three years old, Anne and Joachim gave Mary up to the temple. Even though they had always wanted a child they knew that Mary had a very important role in life. She eventually become Jesus's mother through imaculate conception. Saint Anne does not have any miracles but she is considered a saint for giving up her child for the Lord.
