As we continue to monitor the COVID-19 Pandemic, life continues to be under a situation of constant change infused with ‘the new normal’. For now, our directives from the Archdiocese remain unchanged. We are called to persevere in faith. Repeat once again:
Trust that God is in control.
Psalm 9:11Those who know your name trust in you; you never forsake those who seek you, LORD.
What this means for our St. Anne School:
Current plans are for school to resume on Wednesday, August 12, 2020. Our teachers and staff are scheduled for development the week prior, August 3 – 7, 2020. Everyone involved is to be commended for a summer of tireless effort in preparation. Parish Office Hours will be extended to accommodate the increased ‘traffic’ to our campus.
Psalm 32:8I will instruct you and show you the way you should walk, give you counsel with my eye upon you.
What this means for our Faith Formation in the Fall:
Scenarios for Faith Formation in the Fall continue to be developed and should be ready for publication soon. Again, thank you for your patience and understanding: there is so much to be considered. Work continues behind the scenes to offer the best possible programs to serve the greatest majority across all ages, cultures, and family situations to coincide with the requirements being set forth for academic schooling. The start of Faith Formation will be delayed to allow assessment of the unforeseen effects of the return to schools on the pandemic numbers. Additionally, beginning the academic school year will be a time of great stress and adjustments for our families with children: we hope to lessen that impact by not starting religious education at the same time.
Psalm 27:14Wait for the LORD, take courage; be stouthearted, wait for the LORD!
What this means for our Liturgies:
At this time of year, we prepare our liturgical calendar through Advent. In doing so this year, every situation seems to have a caveat. We continue to monitor attendance at masses, with all due respect for the circumstances that our individual parishioners and their families face. Though celebrations may not be at the normal times and in the manner we would each prefer, we are called to be considerate of all as a whole. As situations change, so shall our liturgical calendar. Please monitor the bulletin and website for changes.
Psalm 116: 12-14How can I repay the LORD for all the great good done for me? I will raise the cup of salvation and call on the name of the LORD. I will pay my vows to the LORD in the presence of all his people.
What this means for our Ministries:
Please continue the support of your members through prayer and service with all means possible. Our church is our people – our people are united and engaged through our ministry members and leaders.
Psalm 16:11You will show me the path to life, abounding joy in your presence, the delights at your right hand forever.
Until next time, take heart – take care - stay faithful – stay well,
Fr. Tommy
